The following rules/instructions will help us keep everyone safe on the poolside and ensure that you/your child get the most out of your/their swimming lessons or training.
Accident Waiver and Release of Liability
By agreeing to this Waiver, I assume all risks for my child and all those registered on my account participating in the activities (hereinafter “Activity”) with Riyadh Sports Academy (“RSA”). Without agreeing to this Waiver, none of those registered on my account will be able to participate in the Activity. I acknowledge that the Activity may pose some risk of personal injury and that I undertake and assume this risk for all those registered on my account. I waive, release, and discharge liability to RSA, its employees, volunteers, and representatives, as well as the venue operators/schools (as advertised on the RSA website and available to book on this platform) providing swimming pool facilities, for personal injury or accident caused as a result of my negligence or the negligence of those registered on my account while participating in the activity, including, but not limited to, disobeying instructions.
Photography
I understand that photography/video filming by spectators is not permitted during lessons and training sessions. Photography/video filming may be taken by spectators at events and competitions for personal use only. Unless otherwise specified, photography and videos may be taken by RSA coaches, staff, or third parties appointed for the purpose of coach education, swimmer feedback, and marketing.
By taking part in any event, you grant the event organizers full rights to use the images resulting from the photography/video filming and any reproductions or adaptations of the images to help achieve the group’s aims. This might include (but is not limited to) the right to use them in printed and online publicity, social media, press releases, and funding applications. RSA will take steps to ensure these images are used solely for the purposes they are intended. If you become aware these images are being used inappropriately, you should inform RSA staff members or a Child Protection Officer.
Training Guidance
I consent to the use of training guidance and understand that on occasion, physical guidance may be used by the relevant instructor when teaching a certain skill or stroke in line with Swim England guidelines.
Physical Fitness
I certify on behalf of all those registered on my account that they are physically fit, have sufficiently prepared or trained for participation in the activity or event, and have not been advised not to participate by a qualified medical professional. I certify that there are no health-related reasons or problems that preclude participation in this activity or event for all those registered on my account.
I acknowledge that this Waiver will be used by the event holders, sponsors, and organizers of the Activity in which those registered on my account may participate, and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities at said Activity. I understand that all those enrolled on my account must have their own medical insurance to participate in any Activity.
I fully understand the risks associated with participating in any Activity, which can include accidents, personal injury (including injuries unknown and unanticipated), or even death. Should the need arise, I hereby give my consent to RSA to provide medical treatment, which may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during participation in such activity/event.
Communicable Diseases
I recognize and fully understand the inherent health risks associated with entering a sports or public venue and voluntarily assume the risk that I, and those registered on my account or accompanying those registered, may be exposed to, or infected by, communicable diseases, including, but not limited to, COVID-19, while on-site at the venue and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and/or death.
I agree that I am personally responsible for obtaining all health information, instructions, medical procedures, and immunizations appropriate by a licensed professional at my own discretion for all those registered on my account. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by any communicable disease at the venue may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself, the people registered on my account, and others, which may not be in the control of RSA.
I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and agree that this release includes any claims whether infection occurs before, during, or after participation in activities within the facilities. I shall defend, hold harmless, and indemnify the parties from and against all losses, claims, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees or similar costs) in connection with any action or claim brought or made (or threatened to be brought or made), for or on account of any injuries or damages, received or sustained by those registered on my account arising during the course of the Activity that is not deemed to be in the control of RSA or the venue operator/school.
I am responsible for notifying the school directly of any changes in my registered member’s health status. This includes any new illnesses or conditions which may affect the member’s ability to safely participate in swimming activities, and could potentially impact the health of other participants. Prompt notification is essential to ensure appropriate measures can be taken to maintain the safety and wellbeing of all swimmers.
Swimming Pool Rules and Safety Guidelines
General Information
● Children MUST arrive and leave the venue with, at a minimum, a T-shirt, shorts/dress, and flip-flops. Please respect the local customs and traditions of the country we live in.
● All children MUST be changed in changing rooms and NOT on the poolside.
● Parents and children are not allowed on the poolside until the teacher is present. Children must not enter the pool until permitted to do so by the teacher.
● If your child is waiting for their class to start, please ensure that noise is kept to a minimum and wait quietly in the pool area. You are not allowed to roam freely around the school campus or use the school’s playground and equipment. This applies when one child is swimming and you may have other siblings with you.
● Please ensure that if you are not waiting on the poolside with your child when they are in the pool, you arrive back at the poolside at least 5 minutes before the end of the lessons to collect them. Children should not leave the pool area unaccompanied.
● Should your child be coming to our lessons from within the school, it is your responsibility to bring them to the pool (unless you have an arrangement with the school) and wait with them. No child should be left on the poolside while unsupervised.
● To ensure a cleaner pool and a more focused lesson/session, swimmers must wear swimming hats. For Learn to Swim term-time customers, RSA swimming hats will be made available; however, until such time, attendees should ensure they bring their own swimming hats to lessons.
● While on the poolside, swimmers or siblings may not play with any of the equipment on-site. This includes floats, toys, etc. Playing with such items can become a hazard on the poolside and may cause an accident.
● If your child has been sick, feels unwell, or has any open wounds, they should not be swimming.
● No food or drink is to be brought onto the poolside – with the exception of water in a plastic sports bottle. All rubbish must be removed from the poolside.
● No glass items are allowed on the poolside.
● Spectators must stay in the designated areas.
Information for the Swimmer
● Swimmers must follow the teacher’s instructions at all times.
● All pool users must shower before entering the pool.
● Please use the toilets provided before entering the swimming pool.
● Appropriate swimming attire must be worn at all times. Swimmers with religious concerns must wear clothing that does not interfere with their safety.
● All jewellery must be removed before entering the pool.
● No running anywhere on the poolside or in the changing rooms.
● Please do not eat within 30 minutes of the start of your lesson, as it increases the risk of regurgitating your food.
● Please change quickly and quietly in the changing rooms. Children under 8 can be accompanied by an adult, and those 8 years and older must change by themselves.
● Swimmers must follow the teacher’s instructions at all times. The teacher reserves the right to remove swimmers from the class for unsafe behaviour.
● Parents are responsible for reading, explaining, and ensuring that registered members follow swimming instructions.
This Waiver constitutes the sole and only agreement between the parties concerning all persons registered and signed up through my account and indemnification as a condition for participating in any Activity with RSA. Any prior agreements, whether oral or in writing, shall be void and of no further effect. This Waiver may not be modified. Where a waiver document is translated, the English version will be final and accurate.
I certify that I have read this document, and I fully understand its contents. I am aware that this is a release and indemnification of liability for myself, my child, and all those registered to my RSA account, and I agree to it of my own free will.
